What is it?

Want to come hack with one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies?

That’d be Anheuser-Busch InBev. And we want to give over 100 talented developers, designers, marketers, and entrepreneurs the chance to show off their skills at a 3 day Hackathon from September 25th to 27th.

Our Hackathon is focused on creating the "Smart Bar". In coordination with campus groups and partner vendors, we will have various hardware & sensor technologies available for hacking with the goal of inspiring new and innovative ways to engage bar patrons & generate data-driven business insights back to retail owners.

The Hack Challenges

Innovative Consumer Experience

Challenge #1 focuses on the experiences that customers in a "Smart Bar" will have. Mobile devices and digital screens are everywhere! A "Smart Bar" will know when a valuable customer arrives, who they are, and what they like to provide the most meaningful interaction possible! Help us create these new and contextual customer interactions using data from the available hardware sensors mixed with external APIs.

Clear your calendar - It's going down! Splash Blocks kicks off on April 21st, and you're invited to take part in the festivities. Splash HQ (122 W 26th St) is our meeting spot for a night of fun and excitement. Come one, come all, bring a guest, and hang loose. This is going to be epic!

Retailer Data & Business Insights

Challenge #2 focuses on the business benefits and insights an owner of a "Smart Bar" can have. A "Smart Bar" should be able to quantify interactions it has with its customers. Help us create new way to measure how we interact with cutomers by creatively using the hardware and sensors we will provide. Capture the music being played, measure when cooler doors are opened and closed. Surprise us with what types of interactions we can track and new business insights that will fuel the "Smart Bar" of tomorrow!
